According to CNN, Ryan gave a speech that `no child should have` because the 13-year-old teenager lost his father in the Iranian tragedy that mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane near Tehran on January 8.

A week after becoming a fatherless child, Ryan attended the memorial service for his late father Mansour Pourjam and talked about the life lessons he learned from his father.

A memorial service was held at Carleton University, Ontario, Ottawa on January 15 for Mr. Mansour, who studied at Carleton, and Mr. Fareed Arasteh, another victim of the tragedy on January 8.

In front of 200 family members and friends of the two unfortunate victims, 13-year-old Ryan gave a deeply emotional speech, bringing many viewers to tears.

“I have no memory of my father, Mansour, ever having any negative thoughts in words or actions.

Ryan said that he didn’t want to talk about bad things and that if his father was still alive, he wouldn’t talk about negative things.

“I understand that if Dad was alive, if someone died in an accident and he was here to give a memorial speech, he wouldn’t talk about bad things.”

“I look down at the people sitting below, I see my father’s family, my father’s friends, the relationships he has worked hard to cultivate over decades.

“My father has gone through many tragedies and events, surrounded by many obstacles, and has gone in the wrong direction many times, but he is still very resilient.

Ryan thanked those who attended the tribute.

Carleton University issued a statement of condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of Mr. Fareed and Mansour `in this difficult time, and everyone feels the loss of the terrible tragedy.`

The emotional video was later posted on Twitter by Canadian parliamentarian Catherine McKenna and received deep sympathy from the online community.

“As so many of us struggled to find the words to express our grief over the terrible airline tragedy, 13-year-old Ryan, who had lost his father, displayed impossible poise.
