Mr. Kim emphasized the need to organize in-depth exercises simulating a real conflict as well as training matches.

According to Planet Labs satellite images published last August, North Korea is believed to have carried out large-scale renovations at a main battle tank factory.
After years of delay, the overhaul is said to have taken place from October 2022 to June 2023 at the Kusong tank factory complex, officially named `Ho Chol Yong Machinery Factory`.
According to analysis of satellite images, a spacious new factory – twice as large as the current one – has been completed.
Leader Kim Jong-un’s latest inspection trip took place when the US and South Korea were holding the annual Freedom Shield exercise to strengthen deterrence against US nuclear and missile threats.
South Korea and the United States have expanded joint exercises in the context of North Korea’s increased weapons testing, including intercontinental ballistic missiles using solid fuel.
Pyongyang has long criticized joint military exercises between Seoul and Washington as rehearsals for an attack on North Korea.
